DIVINE LIGHT- Mission n Vision

At the turn of the millennium a new team of Members – dedicated in the spirit of service joined mostly from Rotary Clubs of Salt Lake Citycomprising of Sri Satyaban Sen, Sri Amar Nath Banerjee, Sri Sekhar Biswas, Sri Mono Mohan Saha, Bidyut Kumar Roy Chowdhury, Sri Mrityunjoy Hazra- who steered the movement towards Students between the impressionist age group of 12 to 16 years and started regular Motivational Camps in order to forge ahead with Swamiji’s Man Making Mission.

Various schools both in urban Kolkata and suburbs used to be regularly visited and their Principals met to find out their requirement to deal with:

• Student delinquencies
• Students drop outs
• Drugs and other external threats

In consultation with the Peer Groups, regular day long Camps wereconducted which included competitive events like:

• Essey Writing
• Debates
• Elocution
• Quiz
• Yoga lessons for a stress-free life

Scholarships for course fees, books, tuition, school dress etc frompoor and marginal families on recommendation from the Principal of the School are awarded to deserving male& female students.

Besides the above, Workshop on Parenting, Counselling of delinquent students and interaction with leading psychologistsare carried out at regular intervals.

Most importantly, eminent motivational Speakers like Sri Tarun Goswami, Dr. Somnath Bhattacharya, Sri Debabrata Das, Swami Atmarupananda ji, Swami Dibyavibhanandanandaji  etc areperiodically invited to inspire and lead the students towards a bright  and meaningful  career- thus resulting in a cascading  effect  of Man Making Mission.

Divine Light is always on the forefront of humanitarian relief activities, be it cyclone or covid related- which are channelized mostly through Rama Krishna Mission and Bharat Sevashram Sangha etc.

Our Goal:

Our prime Goal is to help the society to upskill youth,inculcate good learnings from Swami Vivekananda’s life for building a self-reliant India.
